In a world of KPI’s, did we achieve our fundraising target?
As a Practice, we have always supported a number of charities but this has generally been in a rather ad hoc manner. This year we decided to do things differently: firstly, we would focus our efforts on fundraising for two specific charities - GNAA and Guide Dogs for the Blind - and secondly we set ourselves a target - £1000 - for the year.
As one of aims was also to involve as many of the team as possible in this process, we’ve made sure we completed a number of different types of fundraising activities from Tough Mudder and the Coniston Challenge for the fitter more crazy members of the team as well as a number of more low key and laid back activities, based here at Business Central, involving pool competitions, quizzes and bake sales.
So, in a world of KPI’s, have we achieved our target?
You bet we have! We’re delighted to announce that our total for the year is a fantastic £1600.00 which has been shared equally between the two charities.
Congratulations must go to everyone who played a role in raising the funds in particular, James, Stu, David, Liam, John & Stephen who trained for the physical challenges. It’s been a great experience for all: we’ve had a lot of laughs along the way and been able to help others, too. What’s not to like?
Obviously, the bar has been set high. 2019 will see us focus our efforts on supporting a charity to which one of the team, James, has a personal connection, the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Our target for the year will be £1,500 - which we feel confident we can beat. Discussions have already taken place about which challenges the team will undertake throughout the year, with Tough Mudder, not surprisingly, featuring high up the list. But there are others in the pipeline.
Will keep you all posted about what we’re doing and hope you’ll be able to support the team as we try to beat our target!
