Following the successful completion of a new production facility and the completion of a 2nd phase of expansion subsequently, F. Jones Surfaces awarded a further commission to Niven to design and project manage the largest expansion in the firm’s history.
Phase 3 comprised a further 40% increase in the production area, a 100% increase in office and administration facilities together with a glazed visitor display lobby and extensive external works. The majority of the project involved the expansion of the existing factory façade using matching brickwork and cladding to maintain the continuity of the factory design.
The visitor display lobby broke away from this style, utilising careful architectural detailing, planar glazing and high quality cut and polished marble from the factory to create a modern and contemporary entrance to this first class production facility.
The new facilities has enabled the company – who currently operate the largest number of CNC machines in the UK – to invest further in technology and introduce a new Breton Automated cutting line, one of only five in the world
